Here is our Flexnet Dome on our 18' pool. It was super easy to set up. We only had to buy the poles, which were super cheap, so no biggie. Totally worth having it for us and we are so happy with our purchase! We live out in the middle of the woods and as soon as we would get in the pool, we were usually attacked by backswimmers, horse flies, deerflies, mosquitos, gnats, wasps, bees, etc. Don't forget about all the damn birds that love to sh!t in and on the pool and all the random grasshoppers, dragonflies, beetles, spiders and other countless bugs that died in our pool! With the surrounding trees, tons of leaves, branches, sticks, seedlings, etc. usually would be found in our pool, filter basket and filter.
Since putting the Flexdome Net on 3 weeks ago, we have not had one thing in our filter basket, nothing on our pool floor, our pool water stays crystal clear, we have not had one bug bite or any bugs dive bomb us, not one sign of bird at all! We still get FULL SUN and feel all the breeze just as if the net was not on. This thing is amazing! I love that I can actually RELAX in my pool now.

I ordered the wrong size to begin with, but the seller was quick to respond and change the order. Many thanks. I was initially surprised there were no poles... but, in reading again, I see I have no excuse. It's CAPITALIZED and prominent in the description... and, the local company is very willing to deliver. So, all is well. I'm intending to paint the poles dark green to match the poles on the pool I have already painted... I'm thinking of dyeing the netting blue, as well.

We are enjoying our pool so much more this year. No leaves, no bugs. I'm 70 and put it up by myself.

Overall, not bad at all. Many of the negative reviews seem to come from people who didn’t read the details—this product does not come with PVC. The netting feels a bit thin, so only time will tell how durable it is. It may seem a bit pricey for just a net, but it's still cheaper than constantly buying pool chemicals to deal with debris. Plus, it saves you a lot of time and effort cleaning the pool before each use—more time to relax and enjoy the sun!
PVC wasn't expensive to buy separately, and the kit includes all the necessary hardware for setup: couplings, bungees, zip ties, and clips.

My family and I purchased this for our pool this summer, 3 weeks in and we’re pretty happy with the purchase. It is essentially $350 for some netting, clamps and accessories, but I don’t really know where I would source a net this large on my own 😆 so it seems like a fair trade. I do think $250/$275 would be a more fair price given that you also have to buy the PVC pipe ($70 for us) so I would say 3/5 for cost.
The reason we bought it was
1: To keep leaves out and reduce upkeep. The worst thing about a pool on a property with lots of trees is the amount of cleaning needed to keep it clean! This has cut down on the amount of leaves in the pool tremendously.
2: I live in the swampy woods of south Georgia. We have mosquitoes, horseflies, yellow flies all over that get mean in the summer.
3: I also hate seeing the amount of dead bees, beetles, and other non bitey insects in the pool (save the 🐝 bees). While it’s not 100% effective it makes a huge difference and gives us a lot more time to actually enjoy our pool.

We recently installed the Flexnet dome on our pool. There has been much debate in pool groups about this kit, from the cost to the durability to the practicality and so on. I'm making this post for educational purposes for those who are interested in this type of dome but have a metal pool like us. This is not a post to invite arguments or negativity. There are plenty of other posts to comment on if that's your thing.
We had to get creative when installing this dome. It is designed to be installed on soft sided pools and I had difficulty finding information or images on how to adapt the installation for a metal pool. I did find where someone drilled holes through their top rails and caps to feed the pvc poles through and we didn't want to do that. What we ended up doing is driving 1/2in rebar stakes into the ground around the pool and sliding the ends of the pvc poles onto the tops of the stakes. We also reinforced the center ring at the top of the dome with pvc pipe because we weren't satisfied with the rope structure. We had to make a few cutouts for some of the poles because we have decking around over half the circumference of the pool. We are still brainstorming ideas for how to clip the mesh around the pool to eliminate gaps. And we have a horrible ant problem around the pool and they can still get in because they crawl between the mesh and the rails.
We are in SE Missouri, so we'll have to see how the dome fares during storms, but it will be easy enough to take down if severe weather happens. I can already tell you though, not having a full skimmer basket every day is a blessing so far; we have a Mimosa tree that hangs halfway over the pool. Night swims have been impossible due to mosquitos so having the option now is wonderful. Hopefully this helps someone else that is looking for a dome option but unsure how to make it work on a metal pool.
